The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the planned Stage 2 construction phase on the Arrigoni Bridge in Middletown and Portland.

Stage 2 construction consists of placing temporary precast concrete barrier curb (TPCBC) on Route 17 / Route 66 to facilitate construction on the center lanes of the Arrigoni Bridge approach spans in Middletown and Portland.  This will reduce the Arrigoni Bridge to one lane in each direction on the bridge.

This stage is scheduled to begin the week of December 14, 2020 with an anticipated completion date of April 21, 2021, to be followed by Stage 3.

DOT Project Nos. 0082-0312 and 0082-0320 were awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. at a cost of $46,289,385.04 on January 13, 2020 and is scheduled to be completed February 25, 2022.  This project is being administered by the Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

The center lanes of the Arrigoni Bridge will be closed for construction.  This will reduce the Arrigoni Bridge to one lane in each direction, separated by the construction work zone on the bridge.  Periodic alternating traffic will be occurring in the overnight hours.
